Ch1.01 The General is as Urgent as Law

-17th year of Qu De, under King Xuan, XiangCheng Capital-

It was the winter of the 12th lunar month, and the city was buried in heavy snow. Under the side eaves of someone’s house, there was a beggar that sat on the ground and leaned against the walls. He didn’t move a muscle, as if one with the pile of snow. Passerbys went on their ways in a hurry, none of them were willing to stay out in the cold for long. Even if they had seen the beggar, they would probably not have cared.
A handsome young master passed by whilst holding onto a paper umbrella, one look at the fox fur shawl on his shoulders showed that he was born with a silver spoon. Under the Emperor’s feet, and among the kings, he must be the young master of a rich and noble family.
He walked passed where the beggar lay, and unexpectedly as if influenced by gods or ghosts, glanced back at him.

*Under the Emperor’s feet,  and among the kings -- basically someone of a high standing

* unexpectedly as if influenced by gods or ghosts, - wasn’t sure how to translate this, so I just left the meaning.
(Free to be adopted btw, updates are sporadic, I just loved the manhua, so I wanted someone (or me in this case) to translate the novel )
